The Rural Electrification Agency REA has approved the installation of more Solar Hybrid Mini Grid in many other communities in Ngor-Okpala to tackle the challenges of power supply and improve energy stability. This is part of the federal government initiative in ensuring steady power supply in rural communities. The communities include Elelem and Obike Communities.
The projects which were attracted by the Traditional Prime Minister of Amala community, Barr Patrice Akwara is to bridge the energy access deficit in Ngor-Okpala communities by providing steady electricity to households, small and medium enterprises in rural communities through the deployment of power mini grid.
Already, the first phase of the solar mini grid project had been installed in Amala and Alatia communities. These communities are now enjoying steady power supply , while work is ongoing in Ngor, Eziama, and Ntu communities.
However, the Agency has given assurance that Ohekelem, Nnorie, Orishieze,and Umuekwune communities will benefit from the next phase of the project
Expressing happiness for the projects, Barr Patrice Akwara commended the Rural Electrification Agency for the deployment and installation of the solar mini grid and also for harnessing renewable energy sources for sustainable power solutions in Ngor-Okpala, which he said will create a brighter and more electrified future for Ngor-Okpala .
He further expressed his readiness to commit more efforts towards attracting infrastructural developments and private investments in Ngor-Okpala.
Meanwhile, some Ngor-Okpala Indigenes have continued to applaud Barr Akwara’s magnanimity and committed efforts in developing Ngor-Okpala with his personal contacts and resources.
