DAY OF GLAMOUR AS FRIENDS DEFIED EVENING RAIN TO CELEBRATE OKENZE OBINNA’S BIRTHDAY

It was pomp and splendour on friday evening as friends and well-wishers defied heavy evening rain to join Okenze S.I. Obinna to celebrate his auspicious birthday.
The event was a convergence of eminent friends of bossom affiliation who defied all militating odds to identify with Okenze Obinna . The low-key celebration, which took place at his palatial country home in Umuaga Nguru, Ngor-Okpala LGA ,was a captivating moment of tributary and reflection, emitting a superficial glamour of demonstrative joy, amplified excitement and conviviality.
The atmosphere became dim with the entry Okenze Obinna, who was ushered in with birthday renditions.
The Head of Obinna family, Mr Nich Obinna ,welcomed the guests with the traditional kolanut presentation. The former Minister of State for Education and former Speaker of Imo state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Goodluck Opiah led the rain of tributes and encomiums, which were poured on Okenze Obinna. Rt. Hon. Opiah described him as a highly revered leader who has used his goodwill to empower many individuals. He further described Okenze Obinna as an astute politician who has a second address and has remained at the forefront of making many top politicians in the state.
Chief Rowland Anyanwu, former president of Ngor-Okpala Congress in America who spoke on behalf of Nguru community, described Okenze Obinna as man of many parts, who has remained relentlessly committed in driving progress and development in their community.
Speaking on behalf of the Obinna family, Dr. Oscar Obinna described Okenze Obinna as a blessing to the entire Obinna family. He said though Okenze Obinna is the last of the Obinna family, but has remained a pride of the family.
In his tributary, the moderator of the occasion described Okenze S.I. Obinna, as a leader of earnest sincerity who has continued to demonstrate uncommon magnanimity and excellence in leadership. He applauded the wife of Okenze Obinna, Chief Mrs Margaret Obinna, for her solidarity, love, and care to the husband.
“She is the pillar behind the success of Okenze Obinna. Her understanding and love in managing and tolerating the excesses of Okenze Obinna is legendary. Even in time of provocation, she comports herself and calms every situation with love. She hardly gets into altercation with the husband. Rather, she maintains calmness and bridges any raging fire with love. She is indeed the reason why Okenze Obinna has reached this age today”
Highpoints of the celebration were cutting of the birthday cake and proposing of birthday toast ,which was performed by the former Secretary to the Government of Imo state, Sir George Ezenna Eche.
There were assorted drinks ranging from foreign wines and non-alcoholic beverages, juice, beers , and table water with delicious delicacies palatable to the tastebuds.
The low-key celebration was a grand affair, attracting some friends of Okenze Obinna, including former Minister of State for education and former Speaker of Imo state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon.
