The Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has advised Special Assistants to justify the allowances they receive monthly.
He gave the advice while speaking during a fast-breaking event with his Special Assistants at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Dutse.
He urged them to be good ambassadors of the government and to work diligently towards the development of the state.
“Whenever I get this opportunity, I use it to remind myself and other political appointees that we will be held accountable for whatever we receive on the Day of Judgment.
“Therefore, we must do everything possible to fulfill our responsibilities. Public office is a trust—our appointments are meant to serve the government and the people, not to sit idly and wait for a paycheck at the end of the month.”
“It is unfortunate that some see government funds as free money. I urge us all to fear God, uphold integrity, and carry out our duties diligently, knowing that we will account for our actions,” he said.
When BoldMedia reached out for further comments, government officials reiterated the governor’s stance on accountability and dedication to service.
