Ihedioha Mourns death of Chris Asoluka

The former Governor of Imo state, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha has extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of Hon. Dr. Chris Chigoziri Asoluka, who departed this life on Friday, 9th May 2025.

In a message released after a condolence visit to the family, hedioha described the late Dr Chris Asoluka as a distinguished statesman, an erudite scholar, and a towering figure in Nigeria’s political and intellectual landscape. “To me, he was much more: a brother, compatriot, trusted friend, and an unwavering pillar of wisdom and dedication.

His remarkable can-do spirit, intellectual depth, and steadfast commitment to nation-building distinguished him as a leader of rare quality.
A proud Igbo son and an unrepentant nationalist, Dr. Asoluka served Nigeria with honour, integrity, and passion. His legacy of public service, advocacy for equity, and unrelenting pursuit of excellence remains an enduring inspiration to all who had the privilege of working with him or learning from him”.

Ihedioha also said that Chris Asoluka’s death is a monumental loss. “We also celebrate a life exceptionally well lived, a life that profoundly touched many and contributed immensely to the progress of our nation. May his soul find eternal rest, and may his family find comfort in the rich legacy of love, leadership, and service he leaves behind”.
